Dellupi Arte is delighted to announce the first Pinot Gallizio solo show.
Conceived in collaboration with the Archivio Gallizio, Turin, the exhibition brings together a selection of important paintings by Pinot Gallizio, executed between the fifties and the early sixties, some of which are on public display for the first time.
Among these, there will be the impressive canvases I guitti, 1956, L’albero della vita, 1960 – 1961, and Gli Oracoli I, large works, exemplary of the artist’s poetics and pictorial approach. Loaded with popular traditions, the paintings transmit an incredible vital force, thanks to the extraordinary expressiveness of the pictorial surface, which follows the nervous rhythms of the composition, consisting of dreamlike scenarios, forms full of energy, fantastic narratives and a painting that seems to overflow into the beyond the limits of the picture.
Among the most important protagonists of situationist painting of the twentieth century, the nomadic art devoted to experimentation by Pinot Gallizio has become the cipher of an extremely vital and innovative language, synonymous with free, spontaneous and liberating gesture. Interested in breaking with previous artistic forms, Gallizio overcomes the conventional limits of the painting by relying on absolute creative freedom and the power of imagination. The continuous experimentation of techniques, materials and languages merges with theoretical elaboration and artistic practice is identified in an all-encompassing idea of art and life.
